Day after

Part of the race committee and couple of competitors gathered up today to Slattery's to compare photos and feelings. Most participants did not have exactly good night sleep and headache was quite common. These small problems just confirmed that memory's and flashbacks from yesterday were true. Everybody and every flashback had same message - it truly was great fun!

There was one mutual desire for all and this made bill look kind weird - 16 Cokes... I think no one of us never had so much Coke during lunch.

Race finished!

The race finished in style with Team Tallaght reaching Mother Kelly's on Talbot Street close to Busaras Luas stop. Team Tallaght finished their drinks with a few minutes remaining on the clock and brought Team Sandyford to the pub.

The final result of the race is not official until the organizing committee have gone through all photo evidence. We'll need a few days for that. But, I think we certainly can say that the race was a huge success and everyone had a lot of fun. And ordering a pint of Heineken with two ice cubes and one straw with a german accent in a dodgy pub in Kylemore was quite an experience!

Thanks to everyone that participated, and everyone we met along the way!

In case of emergency

Some help in finding pubs along the Luas lines can be found on these links, especially useful for the team on the Sandyford (green) line since there are stops on that line that do not have pubs.

Bonus points

There has been some questions about how to gain points during the race. We won't let you know that yet. We know that you are criminal bastards that try to cheat all the time, so to keep race fair, we won't announce these yet. We can however tell you that there will be several ways to get points for your team. Wait for it, wait for it...

  1. At least 8 stops has to be made before reaching the end station

  1. All 8 stops has to be made within 8 hours.

  1. The assistant captain is counted as a normal member, unless the captain of the team is incapacitated in which case the assistant captain takes over as captain

  1. If a team member - for any reason except rule #16 - cannot finish their drink, they are out of the race. They are not counted for any points after this, but are allowed to stay with the team as observers. A replacement can however be called in – see rule #17.

  1. If a team member is found guilty of excessive spilling – including breaking his/her glass – a new replacement drink has to be ordered immediately. In this case the member is still in the race.

  1. If a member is lost along the way, a replacement can be called in as a substitute. Any substitutes has to be reported to the other team(s). The team will however be deducted points for losing a member.

  1. A captains decision can only be overruled if there is danger of grave bodily harm to the team members.

  1. You are allowed to drink as much non-alcoholic beverage as you wish at any point as long as the one drink per stop rule is followed

  1. The team must eat at one stop. This does not have to include alcohol, however since the team made a stop, they also need to find one dodgy pub to follow rule #21. This stop cannot be the last stop of the race. Every team member needs to eat at the same time and at the same place.

  1. The Erik rule - Team is allowed to leave Erik behind, but Erik is not allowed to leave team behind. If Erik should leave team behind, team will lose points. If the team leaves Erik behind and Erik runs after the team, no points will be deducted for this as long as the team is trying to run away from Erik. IF Erik should mumble something about food, the team is allowed to start running like hell.
