The Rules

  1. The competition must have at least 2 teams, of maximum 8 team members in each team.

  1. The organizing committee of the race decides on who is in which team.

  1. A couple who is in any sort of romantic relationship are not allowed to be in the same team.

  1. At the end of the race, the team with the most number of points wins.

  1. The losing team have to buy the winning team one round of drinks at the end of the race.

  1. Half of the teams starts at Tallaght, half of the teams start at Sandyford. If there are an uneven number of teams, more teams will start in Tallaght.

  1. Only the Luas is allowed for transportation between stops, unless there are bonus-points listed for other forms of transportation.

  1. At least 8 stops has to be made before reaching the end station

  1. All 8 stops has to be made within 8 hours.

  1. Start station counts as 1 stop

  1. At least 1 stop has to be made in every zone

  1. A stop on a white line is counted as either zone

  1. Every team needs one captain, and one assistant captain. To be announced to the referee no later than 1 hour before the race starts

  1. The assistant captain is counted as a normal member, unless the captain of the team is incapacitated in which case the assistant captain takes over as captain

  1. If a team member - for any reason except rule #16 - cannot finish their drink, they are out of the race. They are not counted for any points after this, but are allowed to stay with the team as observers. A replacement can however be called in – see rule #17.

  1. If a team member is found guilty of excessive spilling – including breaking his/her glass – a new replacement drink has to be ordered immediately. In this case the member is still in the race.

  1. If a member is lost along the way, a replacement can be called in as a substitute. Any substitutes has to be reported to the other team(s). The team will however be deducted points for losing a member.

  1. A captains decision can only be overruled if there is danger of grave bodily harm to the team members.

  1. When a team finishes the 8th stop, the captain of the team decides on a meeting place for all the teams and informs the captain(s) of the other team(s).

  1. Team members cannot communicate to members of another team in any way except through the captains

  1. At every stop, the team needs to find one dodgy pub. In the pub every team member needs to drink one pint of beer or one shot or one drink. ALL drinks has to contain alcohol.

  1. If there are two or more pubs to choose from in a stop, the dodgiest pub has to be chosen.

  1. A team is not allowed to abort a stop once made, unless there is bloodshed or imminent danger. This has to be reported to the other teams and is not counted as one stop.

  1. If, two teams would choose the same stop, they are not allowed to choose the same pub. However, if there is not another pub in sight, the teams are allowed in the same pub. But they must still follow rule #20

  1. You are allowed to drink as much non-alcoholic beverage as you wish at any point as long as the one drink per stop rule is followed

  1. The team must eat at one stop. This does not have to include alcohol, however since the team made a stop, they also need to find one dodgy pub to follow rule #21. This stop cannot be the last stop of the race. Every team member needs to eat at the same time and at the same place.

  1. The Erik rule - Team is allowed to leave Erik behind, but Erik is not allowed to leave team behind. If Erik should leave team behind, team will lose points. If the team leaves Erik behind and Erik runs after the team, no points will be deducted for this as long as the team is trying to run away from Erik. IF Erik should mumble something about food, the team is allowed to start running like hell.

  1. All bonuspoints must be documented by digital photograph.

Satan i gatan vilken klassiker det här kommer att bli. Blir det en succé kanske vi kan åka jorden runt och införa race i varje stor stad.

Ha det helt underbart på lördag. Hoppas ni fixar så ni skickar upp bilder under tiden.

And I have to add that we sure will miss you on this one Sebbe. The Irish don't seem to understand the beauty of this kind of event. Let's do another one in springtime and you'll have to come over for that one.
